Dartmouth College Joins VetLink
Dartmouth College, an early leader in supporting enlisted veterans pursuing higher education, joins Service to School’s VetLink Program.
Nov 27, 2018- HANOVER, NH-Service to School (S2S) is proud to announce a new partnership with Dartmouth College through the Service to School VetLink Program. Dartmouth, an Ivy League institution, already home to several S2S alumni, joins eighteen partner institutions committed to transforming higher education and college access for student veterans.
VetLink directly connects veteran applicants with VetLink partner schools during their undergraduate application process. S2S provides VetLink partner schools with an effective way to identify, evaluate, and accept qualified veterans for undergraduate programs. For veterans, the VetLink program helps find a top college that is the best fit for their interests, and helps them navigate the college application process through one-on-one mentorship
Dartmouth College took an early leadership role in supporting Post-9/11 student veterans. Dartmouth President Emeritus James Wright, a United States Marine, helped to write the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill, which significantly expanded educational benefits available to Post-9/11 Veterans.
“We’re excited to partner with VetLink as we continue to build on Jim Wright’s legacy of encouraging and enabling veterans to pursue higher education after completing their service,” said Lee Coffin, Dartmouth’s Vice Provost for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid.
Together, Service to School and VetLink partner schools are transforming outcomes for veterans seeking higher education and increasing access to exceptional academic programs with high graduation rates. Since the VetLink program was founded in 2015, more than 300 veterans have matriculated to highly selective undergraduate programs through Service to School. Over half of the 844 veterans currently enrolled at the top 36 private undergraduate institutions are Service to School alumni.

Goldstein, “Dartmouth has long understood the impact of veterans on campus, who bring the perspective of real-world experience from their service in conflict zones to the critical thinking environment of the classroom.”
Recently, Service to School committed to increasing support for women veterans pursuing higher education, and a partnership with the College Board to bring School Search to test-takers serving on active duty.
